Hola everybooody!!
So I have a cold, some sort of throat and sinus infection. NOT cool!
Sorta up side, I always lose my appetitite when sick, so maybe I won't be so hungry..
Breakfast:
4 Egg Whites
1TSP Onion Chutney
1 Lemon Water
200ml Probiotic Drink
1 Green Tea
I wasn't so hungry after today, gooood. But because I'm sick I was downing the water like no tomorrow anyway. So had 750ml here.
Lunch:
1 Large Bowl Sald Greens (mesclun and spinach)
1 Fillet of Salmon
1 Tomato
1/4 Cucumber
3 Mushrooms
1 Green tea
750ml water
All the fruit had disappeared at work, so I didn't have fruit today :(
Today I sorta felt perfect, like I wasn't starving but I ate all my food in one sitting. Which is a big difference to the 2 or so hours of the last few days.
Dinner:
1/2 Chicken (SERIOUSLY!)
Side bowl sized Coleslaw
I don't know I wasn't feeling like anything fancy, and this is as good as it gets to stodge on this diet for when I'm feeling sick. I didn't even give myself a treat!! Woo!!
Dessert:
1 Probiotic Yoghurt - They are so good!
Please all pray for me to get better soon! It's labour weekend and Ruby World Cup Finals, I don't want to be out for it!!!

17 Day Diet - Day Three
OK before we get into today.. I have a confession, last night I have ONE FAT FREE MARSHMELLOW!! It was the last of the pack, I just did it!
OK one more confession, tonight I had HALF of ONE PEICE of DARK CHOCOLATE!!
Yes it was about a centimetre big. So glad that is off my chest...
Today wasn't so bad, I was kinda used to eating the food. I still felt hungry quickly after meals though. Also I didn't go Number 2's today, and I didn't go yesterday either. I'm drinking plenty of fluid. I would say close the 3 litres a day in combination with the 2 litres of pure water and the hot lemon water and the green tea. The book said to drink heaps to push all the protein and fibre through. It's not pushing through... I don't know about you but I like to go Number 2's, I want the moment back! I tell you what is coming in abundance... Flatulence, terrrrible ones, they can go away for all I care!!!! Anyway let's get into the menu!!

I started this salad at 11.30am and I finished it at 2pm. For real. I kept getting full quick then hungry quick.
Snack:
1 Orange
1 Stalk of Celery
I had this between 2 and 3pm. The just drank water for the rest of the day to tame my hunger.
Dinner:
Chicken and Vege Soup
Large Chicken Breast
5 Mushroom
1 Stalk of Celery
1 Carrot
1 Onion
1/4 Cabbage
1 Litres of Low Sodium/Fat Chicken Stock
Water.
The above recipe is one serving, I made about 3, I have 3 servings, so did my boyfriend and there is still 1/4 of the pot left so yeah. IT was soooo good though haha I was sooo full and couldn't eat more after the 3rd even though my stomach was grumbling. It was around bedtime so I had my dessert.
Dessert:
1 Porbiotic Yoghurt Tub
Lets hope the food passes through and God Speed!!!

17 Day Diet - Day Two
Day Two faired much like day one.
I am just waaaaiting for my body to adjust to the whole no carbs and sugar situation.
It is becoming very frustrating.
I can't say I felt much more energised, although I got next to no sleep Sunday and Monday, so hopefully more sleep will help.
I enjoyed my meals and again I ate until stuffed, couldb't fit another bit and I was eating incredibly slowly.
But yet again about 30mins to an hour later I was extremely hungry again.
That's what I find weird because my hungry doesn't grow into starving like hunger like it used too.
Where I would eat and then slowly after a few hours feel mmm I could have a snack now and maybe eat a meal another hour away.
Now it's like I eat till full then 30 mins later BAM I have extremely painful hunger pains.
I don't know what it is!!!
Breakfast:
185g Tuna in Spring Water
1 Large Tomato
1 Apple
100ml Probiotic Drink
1 Green Tea
1 Hot Lemon Water
750ml Water
You're thinking, I was thinking, this is a huge breakfast, I'm covering so many bases, I can't be hungry an hour later! But I was so that's why I drank all the water.
Lunch:
1 Large Bowl of Spinach and Salad Leaves
100g Smoked Salmon
1 Tomato
1/4 Cucumber
1 Egg
1 TBS Oil
1 TBS Balsamic Vineagar
I actually had to eat this in halves about an hour apart because it was so big and filling.
But as you see, I ate till full then had to eat again an hour later because I was hungry.
Snack:
1 Orange
I ended up having an orange about 2pm because I was so hungry and all the water (another 750ml and a green tea) wasn't helping.
I looked up on the net if other people also were starving after meals on this diet too, it seems a lot of people experience it and said it dies down after about 3 days. If I'm still starving tomorrow... not happy with my body! It's going through a sugar and carb crash!!!
I'm worried that this is going to prevent me from losing weight and the diet working because I'm hungry all the time my body will start holding onto fat instead.
I guess we will see in 17 days, I will take more snacks like celery to munch on tomorrow I think. It has no calories but I think maybe just the motion of eating will make my body think its full.
Dinner:
1 Chicken Breast (Stirfry)
1 Carrot
1/2 Capsicum
1 Stalk Celery
2 TBS Chilli Sauce
Wow this meal had me so full, I couldn't finish it, it took me an hour to eat because it was soooo filling, so much protein.
Hate to disappoint you but an hour later, I was hungry.
Snack:
1 Probiotic Yoghurt
Thank goodness it was bed time anyway, so I could have my yoghurt then go to sleep without being hungry.
Until Day Three, enjoy yourself :)

17 Day Diet - Day One
Woo Hoo! Diet Starts TODAY!!
Today will be interesting with only 4 hours of sleep under my belt. All Blacks beat Australia in Rugby World Cup Semi Finals. Too amped to sleep!!
Breakfast:
2 Whole Eggs - Microwaved
1 Green Tea
It was a rushed morning, it's all I had together at the time, because I didn't actually do my shopping till the night time.
30 mins later I was STARVING!! So I drank 750ml of water, so thats 3 glasses. Each glass filled me up till I decided it was lunch time.
Lunch:
1 small can of Chicken
1TBS of lite mayo
1 TBS of lite dressing
100g pack of salad (leaves, 2 tiny slices of cucumber and capsicum and bean sprouts)
1 Green Tea
It was a good salad, a bought one as I still hadn't done my shopping. I added the can of chicken. But again about 30 mins later I was starving again! So down goes another 750ml of water - total 6 glasses.
Snack:
100ml Probiotic Drink
1 Apple
1 Orange
I had to do it all in the snack cause I was sooo hungry. Drank another 750ml of water. I was peeing so much! So that is 9 glasses today plus the 2 glasses of Green Tea.
Finished work and I head straight to the grocery store to get my groceries.
I was stunned at how much of the grocery store I didn't even enter, because I didn't need to get food from there! My groceries for the week cost me about $130 (not ideal) especially because I am so hungry, I hope my body gets used to the meal plan fast!!!
Dinner:
1/4 head of Broccoli
1 Carrot
1/2 Capsicum
2 large Butterfish Fillets
This meal I couldn't even finish. I ate all my veges but only one fish fillet. I WAS SOOO FULL! I was thinking "Oh Yeah So Awesome! This isn't going to be so bad!!!"
I needed something sweet after dinner because I don't like having a savoury mouth.
Dessert/Snack:
1 serving tub of Probiotic Yoghurt
All was well, I have church group on Mondays where there is always goodies to munch on so I shoved the yoghurt down to fix me for the sweet even though I was so full.
ONE HOUR LATER - STARVING!!!
While everyone around me was eating all of my favourites. It was mental, like seriously how did this happen! Did they secretly plan the menu!!!???
Supper of which I did not eat:
Banana and Walnut Cake
Ice Cream
Fruit and Nut Chocolate.
Seriously anyone who knows me KNOWS they are my favourite foods!!!
Alas, I was asked if I wanted any, I politely said no and I got some quizzical looks (Courtney.. Not eating Cake Chocolate and Ice Cream!?! Is she on her death bed?)
So I told them "Nooo, I'm trying out healthy eating, plus it's too late to be eating now (10.30pm) It's OK :)"
And you know what, after telling everyone and making it public I could not have it, it made it easier not eating it because I wasn't having an internal battle with myself "They don't know I'm on a diet so I can eat and no one will know but me... You have been so good all day!!!... It's your favourites so its a sign!!!"
After telling them I was thinking "Well it's out there, if I ate now I would just look weak and like a fatty, I have too much dignity for that!... :|"
So I drank more Green Tea and Water and went to bed feeling full and fine

17 Day Diet - Introduction
OK... So today is my 2nd day, I only decided to make this today.
BUT good thing the 17 Day Diet makes your journal!
I'll start by telling you about me and my weight loss situation.
Lets start when I was 16...
I was about a size 8-10 (NEW ZEALAND) and weighed about 58kgs.
I loooved myself!
I got a boyfriend that December. THEN...
From my senior onwards I just started piling on the weight, a whole 20 kgs in 4.5 years.
It was a multitude of factors.
- Me and my boyfriend ate out all the time to be together and away from our parents.
- My boyfriend ate all the time, being a boy. So I would eat with him.
- Graduated from school so graduated from school sports and PE.
- Finished puberty, slower metabolism, but still eat same amount.
- Emotional eating with the changes in life, like leaving school and starting university.
- Cooking and baking became a hobby and a bonding time with me and my boyfriend, we also love to go out for dinner.
The list could go on forever!
But here we are today at 75-78kg (depending on the day) a size 12 - 14 (NEW ZEALAND) and not getting smaller, also 2 months from summer.
There are a lot of reason why I want to lose weight too.
- To look more attractive
- To feel more attractive
- To not be the only big girl when out with my friends
- To make a better impression on people I meet.
- More enthusiasm about life.
- More energy.
- Better health.
- Easy Breezy Shopping Trips.
That list can go on forever as well!!
I actually haven't really tried any diets before, just healthy eating and exercise (neither of which last long - a week?)
Another shocker - At university I studied Exercise Science and Nutrition! I know bucket load of information about how to lead a healthy life. Yet I do not practice it.
I saw an ad on Facebook one day and thought, "OK, 17 Days doesn't seem bad. There's a book and a work book and a work out dvd. Let's take an Amazon Peak.. not bad, BUY!"
After reading the first part of the book and getting to know the pattern I thought "OK so it makes you diet, but it doesn't leave you as soon as the time period is up, lots of veges, I need more of them... Chicken and Fish... I eat alot of that already. It's a long process, reasonable, provides lots of tools, I like the cycle idea, Let's start"
So I made my menu and food list, went shopping (veges are soooo expensive here but oh well!)
prepared all my food... then all I had to do was START EATING!!!
